The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global authority on the environment. UNEP’s mission is to inspire, inform, and enable nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations.

The Massive Earth Foundation (MEF) is a non–profit organization, with the vision to effect actionable policy, research, and project for the Pollution Reduction / Climate change Industry. The core strength of MEF lies in its ability to execute complex projects at scale, doing path-breaking research, and bringing various stakeholders to a single platform.

An initiative by the Resources & Markets Branch of UNEP’s Economy Division. It aims to accelerate progress necessary to meet the 2030 Agenda for SDG, especially for SDG 12 and SDG 8.

Jointly implemented by UN Women and UN Environment Programme, the EmPower: Women for Climate-Resilient Societies (EmPower) project aims to strengthen gender equality and human rights in climate change and disaster risk actions in the Asia and the Pacific region.

LowCarbon.Earth is an Asia-Pacific low carbon lifestyle
accelerator. Powered by United Nations and Massive Earth
Foundation, LowCarbon.Earth supports climate tech startups
from Asia-Pacific region that make sustainable goods and
services to solve climate change.

In order to acheive Net Zero emissions by 2070 and solve climate change, there is a need to trigger climate investments and build a climate innovation ecosystem that nurtures budding startups and develops a thriving community of climate leaders who can provide long term tech solutions to fight climate change. The Low Carbon Earth Accelerator program has been designed to build this climate ecosystem that enables climate tech startups to grow and develop their products on a massive scale. The accelerator program is aimed towards guiding young entrepreneurs, women leaders, and marginalized youth by giving them a platform and connecting them with industry leaders and experts who can guide them through every stage of their growth.

The LowCarbon Earth Accelerator program runs for 12 weeks and offers a range of digital workshops, valuable resources, and mentorship opportunities. Throughout the program, selected founders receive strategic mentorship by the United Nations professionals and Marquee investors, leadership coaching at every growth stage, and connections to experts in climate tech and sustainability across the Asia Pacific region.

We consider startups who are solving climate change – whether they are technology or product-based.

We are open to a wide range of solutions in the area of climate change and pollution reduction. Our areas of focus include, but is not limited to – agriculture, cooling, microplastics, renewable energy and textiles.

LowCarbon Earth offers comprehensive 12-week support without having to dilute equity. We do not charge any fee to apply for the accelerator program either.

Yes. We regularly accept solo founders. However, we advise that one-person startups can be challenging, and having a co-founder increases your chances of success.

Do you give feedback on application results?

Once you submit your application, it enters our review process, so we don’t allow continuous editing

LowCarbon Earth will help with your travel (Selected startups will receive all the details and guidelines).

LowCarbon Earth is a hybrid program where the accelerator program will be virtual and at the end there will be an in-person bootcamp.

LowCarbon Earth is looking for startups operating in sectors related to Climate Tech, including but not limited to these areas – Agriculture, Cooling, Microplastics, Renewable Energy and Textiles. Applications are open for all startups across the entire Asia Pacific region. We strongly encourage applications from women, minorities, individuals with disabilities and other underrepresented groups.

Yes, we allow Wildcard entries/ late submissions. Your application will be reviewed on the merits of its content and not on its timing. When you submit a late application, it will take us longer to get back to you since we received your application outside of the dedicated time set aside for application processing.

The first closure of the applications is 31st of July. However, the application portal will remain open beyond this date for high potential climate startups with slightly high evaluation parameter.
